Bett2020 100
In this series I will be writing about my experiences of Bett2020 – products, impressions – in vignettes of exactly 100 words. Why 100 words? Because I wanted to see whether or not it was possible. I will try where appropriate to provide links to further information.
Some time ago I compiled a list of ways in which pupils could be unsafe online. The list was extremely long -- and comprised only the online dangers. Safeguarding encompasses not only the obvious things but also wellbeing, mental health, radicalisation and even parental health -- after all, some pupils are child carers, either to an ill parent or to younger siblings. Schools need to be both very adept at spotting tell-tale signs, and logging and following up incidents and concerns. From my brief discussion, MyConcern seems to tick all the boxes, and integrates into all school management systems. Worth looking into.
