There’s a lot to be said for blogging. I’ve already written about why educators should have their own blog, and I believe the same goes for writers too.
If you’ve thought about starting your own blog, but are not sure what to write about or what keeping a blog entails, then a course I’m teaching in December 2019 might be of interest.
I won’t be going into the mechanics of setting up blog in Wordpress or Squarespace or anything like that, because this course is not a technical course. The kind of things that will be covered include:
Develop an understanding of why you want to blog and what you hope to get from it.
Start to understand who you want your reader to be, and why they would want to read your blog.
Learn more about the different style of blogs.
Understand the basics that a blog post and a blog should contain.
Begin to understand how a blog gets found by others, and how you can promote your blog.
